The Coast Guard in Newburyport

Among the many subtle, but positive incidentals when considering the purchase of a home in Newburyport is the City's multi faceted historical background and the diversity of its residents.. Such as the following:

In as much as the birthplace of the United States Coast Guard is Newburyport and my natural affection for sailing and the sea, it seemed only natural that I would develop an  interest in the USCG and its Auxiliary. I became a member of the United States Coast Guard Auxiliary, Flotilla 38 some 15 years ago and served as its commander for a period. I was subsequently  promoted to: National Staff Office, Branch Chief Family Services involving ombudsman programs in aid and support to families of servicemen on active duty. I would hope to encourage others to participate in this worthy cause of support for our native unit of national defense service and the promotion of safety at sea for the fishermen and women as well as the numerous area pleasure boaters. Contact me if you have interest in becoming a member or click here for more information: flotilla38.homestead.com.

The following are some pictures of our participation in the Yankee Homecoming 2010 Parade.
